Things to do

Perhaps you feel stuck in a rut, doing the same old things time after time. This is a major reason that people struggle to keep to their fitness regimes. If you are looking for something to do which can be fun as well as keeping you healthy, look no further. Listed below are some links to websites that can help you to keep a fresh approach to fitness.

Extreme / Alternative

  • Wherever you are in the country, there is somewhere near you where you can "go ape". This exhilarating treetop adventure is not just for the super fit and strong. The courses are suitable to everyone with reasonable fitness and strength.
  • If you can handle a couple of hours in the cold, wet assault course that is Toughguy, then enter one of their biannual events. Other adventure races can be found a Trailplus and Sleepmonsters.

Swimming

Swimming is a a great whole-body exercise, and of course is an integral part of triathlon training. Wherever you are in the country there is sure to be a pool near to you and most local pools offer lane swimming sessions for the more serious swimmer. Of course it doesn't have to stop there. Adults with a competitive background (or ambition!) can join their local Masters group. For a completely different workout, why not try a sport like waterpolo, octopush or lifesaving (yes this is a sport!).
